Se si parla del Babylonia però non si può non citare colui che ha reso possibile tutto questo, Aldo Zaffino.
Amato, odiato, personaggio controverso che però ha dato davvero tanto a questa cittadina, quando nessuno faceva nulla, quando tutti riciclavano musicisti e pseudo tali, senza un minimo di conoscenza di genere, lui portava in città i grandi nomi, artisti del panorama underground che gli esperti conoscevano solo per sentito dire o grazie a trasferte nei grandi centri. Aldo ha saputo portarli fino a noi, con i suoi contatti, con le sue conoscenze, con la sua passione.

Chi scrive ha avuto più di una volta da ridire con lui ma nonostante tutto lo si ricorda con un affetto e una stima immensa perché almeno Lui ha fatto qualcosa, almeno Lui ha dato vita a una realtà che verrà ricordata per sempre, con un pizzico di malinconia e di orgoglio, perché porter dire “io c’ero quella sera” è un privilegio che le nuove generazioni non avranno mai.
E come la Babilonia della storia, scomparsa e diventata mito anche al Babylonia di Ponderano è toccata la stessa sorte, ma almeno, per un attimo, anche noi abbiamo respirato quella grandezza spesso riservata solo alle Città con la C maiuscola. Grazie Baby, per tutto, per noi, per Biella.
